Clear everyday obedience
Sit, down, place, recall, implied stay, releases, engagement, and a clearer response to the handler.
Board & Train Dog Training · Greater Austin
A private, home-based training stay with one client dog at a time.
Your dog stays in our home, receives round-the-clock care, and works through a personalized plan with frequent training, appropriate rest, and practical exposure. We accept only one Board & Train client dog at a time.
What makes it different
Board & Train gives your dog more time, repetition, and professional handling than a weekly format can provide. That intensity is most useful when the environment remains personal and the plan remains specific.
Personalized training goals
The exact curriculum depends on the dog, program length, current skill level, and what can be responsibly accomplished during the stay.
Sit, down, place, recall, implied stay, releases, engagement, and a clearer response to the handler.
Less pulling, better positioning, improved attention, and calmer movement through neighborhoods and public spaces.
Door manners, place during activity, calm greetings, settling, crate comfort when appropriate, and household structure.
Waiting, disengaging, holding commands, making calmer choices, and responding even when something exciting is happening.
Appropriate behavior around people, dogs, movement, noises, stores, parks, and other environments selected for the dog.
For suitable dogs and program lengths, advanced communication, distance work, recall, and reliable responses around distractions.
Important: Results and timelines vary by dog. We will recommend a realistic program length during the consultation and explain what the stay can—and cannot—reasonably accomplish.
Training in context
Focused sessions matter, but so do the transitions between them. Calm behavior, boundaries, attention, and reliable responses are reinforced throughout normal routines and appropriate outings.
Training transfers to the owner
A dog can learn a great deal with a trainer, but long-term reliability depends on the people and routines waiting at home. Owner education is built into the program rather than treated as an afterthought.
Choosing the right format
We will recommend it when immersive trainer-led work fits the dog and goals. If owner coaching or the home environment is central to the problem, another format may create a better foundation.
